Matt was appointed Team Rector in September 2025, having previously served as Chaplain at Uppingham and Stamford Schools, where he combined pastoral leadership with strategic oversight of staff and student wellbeing. No stranger to the Diocese of Ely, Matt trained for ministry and served his curacy here, and is delighted to be back serving in a rural context he knows and loves. He is passionate about making theology accessible and rooted in everyday life, about coaching and mentoring others into confident leadership, and above all about making Jesus known in ways that are authentic, hopeful and transformative. Matt is married to Caroline, and together they have two young boys and Margery, their ever-enthusiastic black Labrador.
